Independent Report – Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, the Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB). Attended the 1,000-day commemoration of KH Dimyati Rois’s passing on Thursday night, March 6, 2025. The event took place at Al-Fadlu wal Fadilah Islamic Boarding School in Kaliwungu, Kendal, Central Java. KH Dimyati Rois founded the boarding school and served as the Chairman of the PKB Advisory Council from 2018 to 2022.
During his speech, Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, honored KH Dimyati Rois’s contributions as a role model who shared vast knowledge and exemplary values. His legacy continues to influence various aspects of national, religious, and societal life. Cak Imin emphasized that KH Dimyati’s teachings would keep inspiring the community and the nation.

“We firmly believe that his legacy will continue shaping our social and religious life. His teachings will serve as a guiding light for our nation and state,” said Cak Imin in Kendal, as quoted on Friday, March 7, 2025.
As the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Cak Imin highlighted KH Dimyati Rois as a reference figure, particularly for the PKB family and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). He pointed out that KH Dimyati demonstrated commitment not only in religious devotion but also in national and civic affairs. He believed that KH Dimyati balanced his love for religion and the nation.
“He served as one of PKB’s guiding figures in both religious and national commitments. For him, love for religion and love for the homeland formed an inseparable unity,” stated Muhaimin Iskandar.
KH Dimyati Rois, also known as Mbah Dim, was born in Brebes on July 5, 1945. He pursued religious education at APIK Islamic Boarding School in Kaliwungu, Kendal, before continuing at Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School in Kediri. Later, he deepened his studies at Sarang Islamic Boarding School in Rembang.
As a young man, Mbah Dim chose to settle in Kendal. On January 1, 1978, he married Hj To’ah, the daughter of KH Ibadullah, a community leader in Kaliwungu. After getting married, he established Al-Fadlu wal Fadilah Islamic Boarding School in 1985 in Kaliwungu. The school grew significantly and became a learning center for students from various regions in Indonesia.
His dedication to Nahdlatul Ulama led him to become a member of Ahlul Halli wal Aqdi (AHWA) during the 34th NU Congress in Lampung in 2021. Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the PKB Advisory Council from 2018 to 2022.
KH Dimyati Rois passed away on June 10, 2022, leaving a deep sorrow among the PKB family and the Nahdlatul Ulama community. He took his last breath at Tlogorejo Hospital in Semarang at 1:13 AM. As a highly influential cleric, his legacy remains as a symbol of dedication to Islamic and national values.
The 1,000-day commemoration of KH Dimyati Rois’s passing served as a moment for students, family members, and community leaders to reflect on his contributions. His teachings and values continue to inspire and guide religious, social, and national life.
