Independent Report – Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has officially announced the new structure of the Central Executive Board (DPP) for the 2025-2030 period. Among the newly appointed officials, Rezka Oktoberia has been named Deputy Secretary-General (Wasekjen) of the Democratic Party.
The announcement took place at the Democratic Party headquarters in Central Jakarta on Sunday, March 23, 2025. AHY personally revealed the composition of the party’s leadership for the next five years.
Alongside the appointment of Rezka Oktoberia, AHY also introduced other key members of the board. He selected Herman Khaeron as the new Secretary-General. The event drew significant attention, particularly with the inclusion of Rezka Oktoberia, a woman from Luak 50, encompassing Payakumbuh City and 50 Kota Regency.
Following her appointment, Rezka Oktoberia expressed her gratitude and commitment to fulfilling her new role. She acknowledged the trust placed in her by AHY and sought support from the public.
“Alhamdulillah, I have been entrusted by our Chairman, AHY, to serve as Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Party. I sincerely ask for prayers and support,” Rezka stated on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
Rezka is also currently serving as Deputy Secretary-General of Srikandi Demokrat, an organization led by Annisa Pohan Yudhoyono. Additionally, she holds the position of Secretary-General of the Indonesian Heart Foundation. She affirmed her dedication to carrying out her responsibilities in accordance with the party’s regulations and leadership directives.
“I extend my gratitude to AHY for granting me this opportunity. I am committed to executing my duties as Deputy Secretary-General with integrity. In alignment with the party’s rules and the integrity pact,” Rezka added.
Previously, during the 2020-2025 term, she served as Deputy for Operations and Campaigns at the Democratic Party’s Election Board (BAPPILU). Apart from her political roles, she also holds the position of Special Staff at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN RI).
Rezka acknowledged the significance of her new role and expressed her pride in representing her home region in national politics. She emphasized that her appointment marks a historic moment for Payakumbuh City and 50 Kota Regency. As she is the first woman from the area to hold a key leadership position in a major political party.
“It is a great honor for me to represent the people of West Sumatra, particularly those from Luak 50, in the Democratic Party’s core leadership. This is a historic achievement, as it is the first time a woman from Payakumbuh City and 50 Kota Regency has been appointed as Deputy Secretary-General in a major political party in Indonesia. I humbly ask for continued support,” she remarked.

Meanwhile, young politician Okta Fyandy, also from Luak 50, extended his congratulations to Rezka. He expressed pride in her appointment and deemed her highly qualified for the position. He noted that Rezka is also the Chairman of the Anindya Bakrie Committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), making her a fitting choice for AHY’s leadership team.
“Congratulations to Uni Rezka Oktoberia. I hope she carries out her duties with honor and achieves success in her political career. As a resident of Luak 50, I am incredibly proud. I truly believe that AHY made the right choice by appointing her as Deputy Secretary-General, given her extensive experience in social organizations,” he stated.
He further hoped that Rezka’s new role would contribute to political education and positive political developments in Luak 50 on a national scale.
Similarly, Wulan Denura, a young female leader from Payakumbuh City, extended her best wishes to Rezka. She expressed confidence that Rezka would provide valuable political insights and contribute to the growth of political engagement in Luak 50.
“As a fellow woman in politics, I congratulate Uni Rezka on being entrusted as Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Party. We are confident that she will bring positive contributions to political education in Luak 50 and its impact on national politics,” Wulan stated.
Wulan, who is also a former leader of the Payakumbuh City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), acknowledged Rezka’s leadership skills and extensive experience in organizational management.
“We have seen Uni Rezka’s abilities as a leader. Her experience has been tested and proven, especially during her tenure as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in the previous term,” she added.
The Chairwoman of the Indonesian Political Women’s Caucus (KPPI) also expressed her best wishes.
“Congratulations to Uni Rezka Oktoberia on her new role as Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Party. May she always be in good health and achieve continuous success in her career,” she concluded.
