Independent Report – On January 27, 2025, Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto had a bilateral meeting. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. The atmosphere was warm and full of goodwill, highlighting the strong relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia. Prabowo arrived at the towers around 2:30 p.m. local time, where he was greeted by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Who was accompanied by Malaysian children dressed in traditional attire. These children lined the path leading to the elevator, creating a lively and welcoming environment. Traditional Malaysian dances added a festive touch to the reception.
During the ceremony, both leaders exchanged smiles and engaged in light conversation while watching the traditional performances. After the welcoming ritual, Prabowo and Anwar took the elevator together to the 40th-floor meeting room of the Petronas Twin Towers. Where a delegation from both countries had gathered to discuss matters of mutual interest.

After the meeting, Prabowo held a joint press conference and expressed his deep appreciation. For the warm welcome extended by the Malaysian government and its people. Anwar expressed his pleasure with the progress of the bilateral ties, pointing out how these relationships stood apart from the ordinary interactions between other countries.
The event concluded with a tea party, which provided a more relaxed setting for both leaders to continue their discussions. The atmosphere remained cordial and intimate, as they enjoyed food and beverages, accompanied by live music and dance performances from both Indonesia and Malaysia. This final agenda of the meeting further reinforced the spirit of cooperation and camaraderie between the two nations.
Among those accompanying Prabowo at the meeting were several key Indonesian government officials, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti, Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers and Head of BP2MI Abdul Kadir Karding, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Together, they contributed to the success of this important bilateral exchange, which further strengthened the ties of friendship between Indonesia and Malaysia.
