Independent Report – The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) recently conducted a survey related to the Draft Criminal Procedure Code (RUU KUHAP). Focusing on public trust in various institutions, including the president. According to the survey results, the public’s confidence in President Prabowo Subianto remains high.
Yoes C. Kenawas, a researcher from LSI, explained during a press conference in Jalan Bangka Raya, Mampang, South Jakarta. The data from January 2024 showed a stable trend. However, compared to the survey conducted after Prabowo’s first 100 days in office, there has been a slight dip in the approval ratings. While this drop is still within the margin of error, it reflects a small decrease in public trust.
In terms of trust in institutions, LSI’s survey focused primarily on the president, law enforcement, and security agencies. Among the institutions surveyed, the president received the highest level of trust. The survey found that 88 percent of the public either strongly trusted or somewhat trusted President Prabowo. The Indonesian National Military (TNI) also received a high trust rating at 83 percent. Followed by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejaksaan Agung) with 75 percent. Other institutions that scored high included the Constitutional Court (MK) at 72 percent. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at 68 percent, the judiciary at 66 percent, and the National Police (Polri) at 65 percent.
Yoes emphasized that the public’s confidence in the Attorney General’s Office has remained consistent across surveys, making it one of the most trusted law enforcement agencies. The Constitutional Court, KPK, judiciary, and National Police were also consistently ranked lower than the TNI and the Attorney General’s Office, but still enjoyed a considerable level of public trust.

The LSI survey was conducted between March 22 and 26, 2025, with a target population consisting of Indonesian citizens aged 17 and above, or those who are married and own a telephone or mobile phone. The survey sample included 1,214 respondents, selected using a Double Sampling method. This method involved randomly selecting samples from a previous face-to-face survey database conducted by LSI.
The margin of error for the survey was estimated to be approximately 2.9 percent, with a 95 percent confidence level, assuming a simple random sampling approach. The interviews with the respondents were conducted over the phone by trained interviewers.
In summary, the LSI survey results suggest that public trust in President Prabowo remains strong, despite a slight decline compared to earlier approval ratings. Trust in other key institutions, such as the TNI and the Attorney General’s Office, also remains high. The survey highlights the relative stability in the public’s confidence in the Indonesian government and law enforcement agencies, offering valuable insights into how the public perceives these institutions.
