Independent Report – The Indonesian government officially launched the Free Health Check Program (CKG) on Monday, February 10, 2025. President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka made this program one of their key campaign promises. The launch sparked various reactions, including positive responses from political parties.
Agus Herlambang, spokesperson for the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), expressed his support for the program and highlighted its preventive approach to healthcare. He emphasized how this initiative shifts the focus from treating diseases to preventing them. PSI appreciates this breakthrough because it shows the government’s commitment to prioritizing public health. He stated that Prabowo and Gibran are proving their dedication to the people’s welfare through this program.
Agus also pointed out the program’s benefits for underprivileged individuals who previously couldn’t afford medical check-ups. With free health check services, people can detect potential health issues early without worrying about financial constraints.
Meanwhile, Head of Presidential Communications Hasan Nasbi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving public healthcare. He stated that the CKG program aligns with the administration’s vision of providing accessible healthcare services for all Indonesians. The government aims to enhance the national healthcare system to match the standards of developed countries.

Hasan emphasized that as Indonesia approaches its 80th anniversary of independence, the country is undergoing a remarkable transformation in the health sector. He explained how this initiative strengthens the national healthcare system by ensuring equal access to medical services for all citizens.
President Prabowo Subianto has also focused on human resource development. Hasan explained that strengthening human capital plays a crucial role in achieving Indonesia Emas 2045, a vision for a prosperous and advanced nation. He stressed that building a “Golden Indonesia” isn’t just about reaching a milestone in age but also about improving the quality of life. Good education and healthcare serve as essential foundations for increasing productivity and driving national progress.
To implement the CKG program, the government allocated Rp4.7 trillion. The program serves people at different stages of life, focusing on three key areas: Birthday CKG, School CKG, and Special CKG for pregnant women and toddlers.
The government provides Birthday CKG for children aged 0-6 and individuals aged 18 and above. People can access this service at healthcare centers within 30 days of their birthday. In the future, clinics partnered with BPJS Kesehatan will also offer this service.
School CKG will begin in July 2025, coinciding with the new academic year. The program will target students aged 7-17, ensuring they receive essential health check-ups as part of their school routine.
Additionally, the government has designed Special CKG for pregnant women and toddlers. Community health centers (Puskesmas) and integrated health posts (Posyandu) will conduct these check-ups to ensure early detection and proper care for mothers and young children.
Through this comprehensive initiative, the government aims to promote a healthier population by emphasizing preventive healthcare. By providing all citizens with access to regular health check-ups, the CKG program will significantly improve public health and overall well-being.
