Independent Report – The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) officially introduced Coretax. The latest digital tax administration system, on January 1, 2025. Coretax is designed to simplify various tax services for taxpayers, including registration, payment, and filing of tax returns (SPT).
A member of the House of Representatives Commission XI, Ahmad Najib Qodratullah, emphasized the importance of balancing technology with a socio-cultural approach in addressing tax arrears. While the system is efficient, a human-centered approach is still necessary.
“In many regions, tax arrears are not just an administrative issue but also involve awareness and social attachment. This is why a culturally driven approach, such as the one implemented by Dedi Mulyadi when he served as the Regent of Purwakarta, remains relevant,” he stated on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Najib highlighted the need to integrate technology with a humanistic approach, following the example set by Dedi Mulyadi.

“Coretax can be used to detect anomalies and map data, but a social approach is still needed to communicate the message in a more relatable manner. This is not about choosing one over the other but rather about how both can complement each other,” he explained.
As a nation rich in cultural diversity and with digital infrastructure that is not yet evenly distributed across all regions. Indonesia requires an inclusive, flexible, and locally adapted tax strategy.
“Paying taxes is not merely an administrative obligation but a form of participation in maintaining this nation,” he added.
“For this reason, the state must be present not only through a system but also through leaders who can listen to and understand the people.” Said the PAN politician.
He also suggested that digital systems should be utilized to detect and map data. While local governments should take the initiative to engage directly with the community. Explain the importance of taxation, and encourage active participation.
“When we develop Indonesia from its villages and remote areas, addressing tax arrears must also begin with a humane approach. Paying taxes is not just an administrative duty but an act of commitment to nurturing the homeland,” he concluded.
